It’s Ash Wednesday

Today marks the beginning of the Lenten season with Ash Wednesday.

Lent is a 40 day span observed by many Christian religions leading up to Easter.

Ash Wednesday derives its name from the placing of repentance ashes on the foreheads of parishioners.
