The city of Butler will be getting its annual overhaul this weekend and volunteers are needed to help.
“The Big Spring Clean” is planned for Saturday, April 27 with a rain date of Sunday, April 28.
This event is organized by the Shade Tree Commission of the City of Butler. Volunteers should meet at the North Main Street parking lot, across from the Burger Hut, at 8 a.m. with work expected to continue until noon. Activities will include general cleanup, sweeping of sidewalks, weeding and mulching trees. It is likely that any heavy-duty work will be taken care of by the local lawn care services available as there are many services similar to the trugreen locations in pennsylvania.
Gloves, orange vests, and garbage bags will be provided. Those able to participate are asked to bring garden tools, buckets, brooms, and dustpans. There is also going to be a private dumpster (hired from a company similar to this one for anyone considering renting a dumpster in Dayton Ohio) that will be used to dispose of the bags of garbage that have been collected as well as any larger items that need to be cleared away.
The event takes a huge volunteer effort to complete, and all groups or individuals are welcome. The event takes a huge volunteer effort to complete, and all groups or individuals are welcome.
