Indiana University of Pennsylvania will be requiring their students to wear masks this fall.
IUP’s policy for the upcoming semester says students will have to mask up while they are inside buildings on campus and buses.
School officials say since the State System of Higher Education cannot mandate their students to get the COVID-19 vaccine, masks will be required because social distancing is not possible when the school operates at full capacity.
While some private universities like Duquesne are requiring the vaccine, the state system is bound by the decisions of the legislation, which currently is prohibiting schools from mandating a vaccine.
