We have more information about the Jackson Township project recently awarded a large state grant.
The municipality will receive $120,000 for phase two of a project at Reservoir Park.
“We’re looking to make some additional enhancements to the parking lot, a playground, and an extension of our walking trail. We’re going to make it a complete loop around the former reservoir property, that would then connect over to the right-away we’ve obtained in the neighboring Murphy Tractor property to the north,” Jackson Township Manager Chris Rearick explained.
A previous grant funded the first phase of this project last year which included two soccer fields and the beginning of the trail network. According to Rearick, the Township will also be contributing.
“The township is providing a 50 percent match, $45,000 of which is from employee and staff time and equipment, where our guys will be doing much of the trail work and development on the site,” Rearick said.
This grant is part of the Community Conservation Partnerships Program through the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
