Jackson Township has purchased new body and vehicle cameras for the township police officers.
The township has entered into a five-year agreement with Utility Inc. worth $35,000-per-year for 11 body worn cameras and a car camera system.
The township has a policy for vehicle cameras, but has recently been testing the use of body cameras.
The new contract also updates camera technology as fleet vehicles are updated to remain current with technology.
Jackson Township has 13 officers included in their police force including their chief of police and lieutenant.
