James A. “Jim” Sneddon, 75, of Butler, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025, while under the care of Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born February 11, 1949, in Cannonsburg, PA, Jim was the son of the late Ellsworth and Ruth (Jordan) Sneddon.
Jim was a graduate of Fort Cherry High School and went on to attend Penn State University where he earned his degree in criminology. He served our country honorably in the United States Army Reserves. Jim retired from Sears at the Clearview Mall and then went to work for Diehl Automotive. Jim was a member of the Masonic Hall Chartiers Lodge No 297 in Cannonsburg. He was an avid Penn State Football fan and enjoyed watching games with his boys. Jim would enjoy finding the biggest hill he could and would walk around often for exercise. Above all else, Jim was a selfless and humble man that put his family first in every situation, and was an absolute master at creating and maintaining the most perfect blended family. He will be dearly missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to know him.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Noreen S. (Johnson) Sneddon, whom he married on November 7, 1987, his sons, Beau (Angie) Sneddon and Jeff (Sara) Sneddon; three step-sons, Virgil (Mindy) Neigh, Lance (Garrah) Neigh, and Chad (Renee) Neigh; his grandchildren, Parker, Spencer, Savannah, and Sloane Sneddon; Lawson, Lanigan, Leighton, and Kynlee Neigh, and Dominic Rock, and his great granddaughter, Kendall Sneddon.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Bonnie Williams.
Per Jim’s wishes, the family will be celebrating his life privately at a date that has yet to be determined.
