James H. “Jim” DeGrange, 85, of Karns City, passed away Sunday morning, November 14, 2021 while in the comfort of his home.
James was born in Butler on May 4, 1936. He was the son of the late David K. and Lois Dipner DeGrange.
James was of the Christian faith. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was an antique car enthusiast and enjoyed watching NASCAR, especially Grand Prix Racing.
He retired as a water treatment operator from Armco in Butler.
He is survived by his longtime companion, Sally Welton and her family, of Karns City; a son, Robert Roberts and his wife, Jerri, of California; two grandsons, two sisters, Barbara Lunn and her husband, George, Jean Young and her husband, Ron, and a brother, Jack DeGrange, as well as a number of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Karns City, 128 Main St., Karns City, from Noon – 2:00 p.m. Wednesday. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. from the funeral home with the Rev. Floyd Barnhart, a United Methodist pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Bear Creek Cemetery, Petrolia.
