James J. “Jim” Hannon, 60, of Butler, PA passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at his home.
Born February 9, 1963, in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Thomas L. and the late Eleanor Jean (Jeffries) Hannon.
Jim was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and went on to attend Penn State Harrisburg where he received his degree in Electrical Engineering. He was a Professional Engineer and was currently employed as a Senior Project Manager with Allen + Shariff. Jim had a robust passion for hockey which started at a very young age. He began playing with his brothers and continued his love for the game by watching it regularly. Jim enjoyed listening to music, hunting, fishing, and going out and seeing his many friends. He was also a real “foodie” and relished in cooking and BBQing at his home. More than anything, Jim loved his family. He especially enjoyed attending and coaching his children’s sporting events and spending time at camp with them along with his dog, Murphy.
Jim is survived by his wife, Rosanne “Rox” (Straub) Hannon, whom he married on May 26, 1990, his daughter, Rachel Hannon and her fiancé, Thomas Gaurrich; his son Ryan (Rachel) Hannon, his grandson, Cameron; three brothers, Thomas (Kathy) Hannon, Edward (Kristi) Hannon and Jeffrey (Dawn) Hannon; his brothers in law, Francis (Cheryl) Straub and Patrick (Susy) Straub; his sister in law, Paula (Louis) Chiappelli, numerous nieces and nephews and his lifelong best friend, Thom Hoburg.
Per Jim’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or services.
In lieu of flowers, Jim would ask that you kindly donate to your local Humane Society.
