James William Grove, Jr., age 72, of Butler, passed away suddenly at his residence on Mon., Jan. 3, 2022.
Born July 5, 1949 in Butler, he was a son of the late James William Grove, Sr. and Vivian Ruth Bowser Grove.
Jim retired in 2011 from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation as a truck driver/equipment operator. He was also formerly employed at Pullman Standard until its closing.
He is survived by one brother, Robert L. Grove, of West Sunbury; one sister, Kathy J. Miller and her husband, David L., of Butler; two nephews, Jason D. Miller and his wife, Jessica, of Butler, and Jeremy S. Grove, of Petrolia; one niece, Deanna L. Miller of San Diego, Calif.; two great- nephews, Jason “J.J.” Miller and Jacob “Jake” Miller; one aunt, Winifred Melendez, of East Brady; two uncles, Gary Bowser and his wife, Amy, of Frogtown, and Paul Grove and his wife, Mavis, of West Middlesex; several cousins; and his good friends, Rick, Dave and Don.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Cindy Grove.
Friends will be received in the Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 429 Center Ave., Butler, on Thurs. from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Funeral Services will follow at 7 p.m., with the Rev. Paul Fish, pastor of Butler Wesleyan Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Brady’s Bend Cemetery.
