Jamie Todd “Gomer” Pyle, 51, of Chicora, passed away Saturday evening, January 15, 2022 of injuries he sustained in a vehicle accident in Brady’s Bend Twp., Armstrong Co.
Jamie was born in Butler on October 8, 1970. He was the son Jack L. Pyle of Chicora and the late Judy Patton Pyle.
He was a 1988 graduate of Karns City Area High School. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, demo derby, attending races at Lernerville, and going to concerts, especially Outlaw Country. He had been employed for almost 20 years at J.S.P. Industries.
In addition to his father, Jamie is survived by two sons, Cody T. Pyle and his fiancé, Caitlin, of Chicora and Chris Pyle and his wife, Stephanee, of Karns City; seven grandchildren, Kaden, Charlie, Willa, Mayzee, Leroy, Greyson, and Millie; his fiancé, Wendy Bellis of Chicora; three brothers, John Pyle and his wife, Amy, of Clintonville, James “Jim” Pyle and Sharon, of Butler, and Jeffrey Pyle and his wife, Barb, of Fairview; two sisters, Jackie Shallowtree and her husband, Roger, of Mt. Chestnut, and Jodi Williams and her husband, Dave, of Chicora; his “cousin brother”, Matt Pyle and his wife, Jen, of East Brady, as well as a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to his mother, Jamie was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Rd., Chicora from 6 – 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 1 – 2 p.m. Wednesday. A funeral service will follow from the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Mark Wallace, pastor of Chicora Alliance Church, officiating.
