Jane Ellen Kummer, 91, of Renfrew, Pennsylvania, passed away on November 12, 2017 at the Butler Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 10, 1926 in Butler, Pennsylvania to the late Harry Langbein and the late Blanche Crawford Langbein.
She graduated from Butler High School in June 1944. Jane worked as a secretary at the Butler High School in the Principal’s Office. She then worked as a secretary to the Butler County Community College President Dr. James Lawson reitiring in 1978. Jane enjoyed family, grandchildren and great grandchildren, dancing and campfires. She liked horseback riding and camping at Flying W Ranch in Kelletville, PA. Jane belonged to several card clubs, and enjoyed playing all card games especially 500. Her and her husband owned and operated the Lazy K Acres Farm.
Jane is survived by her one son, Randal L. (Kathleen) Kummer of Renfrew, PA; three grandchildren, Audra (Rick) Bowers of Pittsburgh, PA, Jessica (Marc) Waltemyer of Wyalusing, PA, Randel (Christian) Foertsch of Saxonburg, PA; seven great grandchildren, Teagan Bowers, Lincoln Bowers, Dayton Bowers, Andi Foertsch, Kinzi Foertsch, Cole Waltemyer, Jaxson Waltemyer; two nieces, Diane Smith of Portersville, PA, Glenda Mae Myers of Byron, GA; three nephews, Robert Kaufman of Butler, PA, Walter Kummer of Kennerdell, PA, and Jim Porter of Raleigh, NC.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clair “Bus” Kummer, who she married on December 6, 1948 and who passed away on December 5, 1999.
Friends will be received Wednesday, November 15, 2017, 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Thompson – Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2017, at 11:00 am at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc., 124 East North St. Butler, PA, with Pastor Jarrod Crawford from St. John’s Reformed Church, officiating.
Burial will take place in the Butler County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John’s Reformed Church, 493 Evans City Rd., Butler, PA 16001.
