Jean Lynn Grey, 67, of Butler has sadly passed away. She passed away on November 6th, 2024, surrounded by her family following an illness. Jean was born on September 22nd, 1957, in Port Lovaca, Texas to Carol & Ralph McClafferty. Jean met the love of her life just a few short blocks from her own home in Butler’s South Side neighborhood & on August 28th, 1976, she married Ed Grey. Together they have 3 grown children. As a young woman, Jean worked at the VA Medical Center & Brown’s Boot Shop, both in Butler, before becoming a stay-at-home mom & homemaker which included cooking homemade meals, cleaning, & caring for her family.
Jean had a smile & kindness that radiated, she was extremely selfless & would do anything for anyone if she could. Jean was a woman of faith & loved her family dearly. Jean was an avid animal lover of many kinds who loved spending time with her chihuahua Emma, time outside, watching her birds inside & outside in the yard, & gardening. She enjoyed doing puzzles, reading, cross stitching, & playing Yahtzee with family.
Jean is survived by her loving husband of 48 years Ed, and their three children, Gabrealle (Russell) Stewart of Brockway, PA, Emily (Ashlee) Carroll of New Castle, PA, Edward Grey of Butler & his three children Luccey, Rexx, & Elley. Her father Ralph McClafferty, sister Trish (Keith) Rose & their children Tanner Rose & Casey Rose, her mother-in-law Lois Bishop, sisters & brothers in law Penny (Kurt) Sinclair, Bob (Monica) Grey, Zach (Becky) Grey, Quint (Sherry)Grey, Lorrin (Bev) Grey, Vern Trajanovich, Lavonne Beamish, & numerous nieces & nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother Carol McClafferty, her grandparents, & numerous aunts & uncles.
