Officials in Jefferson Township say a recent conversation with PennDOT showed that there’s no real evidence that a blinking stop sign would help at a busy intersection.
The township has been trying to figure out if a stop sign that had red blinking lights on it would be any help at the intersection of Bonniebrook and Great Belt Roads.
PennDOT officials say there has been no study done on if blinking stop signs have a safety benefits.
Township chairperson John Cypher says that there’s no real support for this type of sign and there is no science to prove it as a benefit.
