A local facility is offering a free virtual program about making real maple syrup later this week.
The Jennings Environmental Education Center in Slippery Rock will present how real maple syrup is made on Tuesday at 10 a.m.
This presentation is meant particularly for adults and will cover the process of how to ID, measure, and tap the trees as well as how syrup is collected and cooked. There will be a time for questions and answers.
Although the program is free, registration is required to receive a link either by signing up online or by calling the park at 724-794-6011. The program will also be available to view after it is presented.
