A local historical treasure is open to the public for the first time this summer later today.
The Jennings Environmental Education Center Foltz School along Route 8 North in Slippery Rock will be open to visitors from noon to 5 p.m.
Along with interactive displays, docents will be on hand to share knowledge about this one-room schoolhouse. There is no fee or registration required.
Parking and restrooms are available on site.
