Joan M. Bachman, 82, of Butler, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot.
She was born December 11, 1934 in Butler, the daughter of the late Alvin and Alice (Monks) Wise.
Joan was a member of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. She had been a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed baking and playing cards. She found great pleasure in watching her grandchildren participate in their sporting events. Joan had a wonderful sense of humor, always joking around with her friends and family. She had a generous heart, always helping those around her.
Surviving are her husband, Ralph Bachman whom she married August 1, 1952; her daughter, Connie (Chuck) Kiley and her sons, Keith (Angie) Bachman and Carl (Cheryl) Bachman, all of Butler; grandchildren, Kevin and Jeffery Kiley, Cody, Holly, Clay, Mitchell and Connor Bachman; her great grandchildren, Gavin, Vincent, Rebekah, Genevieve, Ezekiel and Oliver Kiley and Brooke Bachman; her sister, Martha Herold; her brother, Raymond Wise; a sister-in-law, Janet Saunders and a brother-in-law, Russell (Beverly) Bachman.
She was preceded in death by her son, Howard Bachman; brothers, Loyal, Alvin, Paul and George Wise; and her sisters, Helen Richards, Florence Leslie and Mary Alice Wise.
Friends will be received at Young Funeral Home, Ltd., 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, on Tuesday, September 19th from 2 – 4 PM & 6 – 8 PM.
Services will be held at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church on Wednesday, September 20th at 11 AM with Rev. Alden Towberman officiating.
Interment in the Greenlawn Burial Estates.
