Joan M. Bresnehan, age 86 of Chicora passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018 in Allegheny Kiski Hospital, Natrona Heights, Allegheny County, PA. after a short illness. She was born in Oakland Township, Butler Countyday, Friday, August 21, 1931 the daughter of Paul and Anna McGinley Weiland. She married John M. Bresnehan January 25, 1950 who died October 6, 2010 after being married 60 years.
Joan attended Butler High School. She was a long-time member of Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church, North Oakland where she loved to sing in the choir and was a member of the Christian mothers. She enjoyed playing cards, being outdoors, growing her flowers, golfing, and was a member of the East Butler Fire Hall bowling league, and was a big fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates. She particularly enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by a daughter Theresa Benedetto of Franklin, PA. 4 sons: Gale Bresnehan of Norristown, PA. Dennis (Brenda) Bresnehan of Fenelton, PA, Richard (Mary Lou) Bresnehan of Chicora, PA. Stephen (April) Bresnehan of Meridian, PA, a daughter-in-law Carrie Bresnehan of Butler, PA. 11 grandchildren: Amanda Bresnehan, Eric (Jenna) Bresnehan, Michael (Samantha)Bresnehan, Adam (Kiley) Bresnehan, Brian Bresnehan, Madison and Caleb Bresnehan, Mark, Michael, Brittany and John Benedetto. 2 great-grandchildren: Dominic Benedetto, Noelle Bresnehan.
In addition to her husband and parents she is preceded in death by a son John E. Bresnehan who died in 2007, and a brother John Weiland, and her sister Alene Parker

Mass of Christian Burial will be held
Friday, April 20th at 11 a.m. at Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church, North Oakland, Chicora, PA. with Reverend Rick Thompson, pastor officiating.
Interment will be in Saint Joseph Cemetery, North Oakland, Chicora, PA.
