Joan Marie Broerman, age 94, of Newhaven Court, Butler, passed away Wednesday, February 21, at her residence.
Born on February 2, 1924 in Reserve Township, Allegheny County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph F. and Theresa M. Weiss Brunner.
Joan was employed for more than 30 years as a tax consultant with H&R Block. She earned her Treasury Card Certification to practice before the Internal Revenue Service.
She was a charter member of Saint Andrew Roman Catholic Church, Butler.
Joan also belonged to The Blind Association, the Guide Dog Association, and the Tanglewood Senior Center.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna Campbell and her husband, Joseph, of Butler, and Diane Dancik and her husband, Dennis, of Butler; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Broerman, of Butler; six grandchildren, Karen, Ken, Kristi, Brian, Theresa, and Mary Beth; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth O. Broerman, who passed away April 20, 1988; two sons, Denis A. Broerman and K. Daniel Broerman; two grandsons, Jonathan D. Broerman, and Shawn C. Dancik; four sisters; and two brothers.
Friends will be received in the Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 429 Center Avenue, Butler, on Saturday from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon on Saturday from Saint Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 1660 North Main Street Extension, Butler, with the Rev. Nicholas J. Argentieri, pastor, officiating.
Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
