Joan (Radzavich) Ivonowski Young, 80, of Butler, passed away Saturday, October 14 2017 at Mohan Personal Care Home in Butler. She was the last surviving member of her family.
She was born March 19, 1937 in DuBois, the daughter of the late Joseph & Martha Radzavich.
Joan was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved living on the farm and gardening and caring for her cats and dogs. Joan enjoyed hosting Christmas day brunches for the Ivonowski and Young families.
Surviving are her daughter, Cynthia A. Ivonowski of Butler; two sons, Joseph M. Ivonowski (Melanie) of Summerville, SC and Richard A Ivonowski of Kennerdell, and her daughter in law, Mary Jo Ivonowski of Butler; her stepson; two stepdaughters; five grandchildren, Jill (Jamie) Garnsey of Walterboro, SC; Betsy (Kenny) Makwinski of Ladson, SC; Julie Ivonowski of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Robert Ivonowski of Butler and Stephanie Ivonowski of Butler and three great grandchildren, Ansley, Michael and Kayleigh.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Leo Ivonowski whom she married in September of 1955 and who passed away in July of 1966 while serving as a volunteer fireman for the Reynoldsville Fire Department; her second husband, Frank Lumley whom she married in 1975 and who passed in January of 1984 and her third husband, Albert J. Young whom she married in February of 1986 and who died in February 2015; 2 sisters and her son, Robert L. Ivonowski.
In honoring her wishes, she will be buried privately by her family beside her first husband in St Mary’s Cemetery in Reynoldsville, PA.
