Joanne M. “Jo” Walker Jamison, 84, of Renfrew, Pennsylvania, passed away on September 9, 2017 at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.
She was born April 13, 1933 in Connoquenessing, Pennsylvania to the late Floyd Walker and the late Laverne Hilliard Walker.
Mrs. Jamison was a graduate of Butler Area High School. She went on to Butler Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Slippery Rock University. Joanne worked as a Registered Nurse in Albuquerque, NM, Moses Lake, WA, and later at Butler Memorial Hospital for more than 40 years. She was a member of the Slippery Rock University Alumni and also of White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church, where she served as a Deacon and on many other committees. Jo enjoyed reading, crafts, and most of all making scrapbooks for her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Robert G. Jamison, Sr., whom she married on June 24, 1954; five sons, Robert G. Jamison, Jr. and his wife Katie of Evans City, PA, Thomas D. Jamison and his wife Maggie of Lebanon, PA, R. Bryan Jamison and his wife Michelle of Ross Twp., PA, Scott R. Jamison and his wife Carol of Evans City, PA, and Michael J. Jamison and his wife Amber of Prospect, PA; two daughters, Linda D. Carpenter and her husband Randy of Fairborn, OH, and Carol L. Dreyer and her husband Rev. W. Lee of Butler, PA; sixteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Norma Jean Neely.
Friends will be received Tuesday, September 12, 2017, 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 pm at Thompson – Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, 11:00 am at the White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church, 102 Shannon Road Renfrew, PA, with her son-in-law, Reverend W. Lee Dreyer, officiating.
Burial will take place in the Greenlawn Burial Estates.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church Scholarship Fund, 102 Shannon Rd., Renfrew, PA 16053.
