Joanne R. Cranmer, 87, of Cabot, PA, formerly of Butler, PA, went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 28, 2019 at the ER in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 16, 1931 in Saxonburg, Pennsylvania to the late Ira Burlbaugh and the late Goldie Walker Burlbaugh.
In her early years, Joanne worked as a secretary at an auto dealership and also a survey company and was a homemaker. Joanne’s beautiful voice was heard in church choir, weddings, and the Tuesday Musical Club of Saxonburg. She studied voice with Ottalee Krueger – New Kensington. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star #45 – Butler Chapter, Butler County Republican Women, Gideon’s Ladies Auxiliary of Butler, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem – Grove City #53 Chapter, the Butler Christian Women’s Club and last but not least, Mt. Chestnut Presbyterian Church – Sunday School Teacher. She was an accomplished Past President of the Mt. Chestnut Women’s Club and Past Mother Advisor for the Order of the Rainbow for Girls – Meridian Chapter.She graduated from Butler High School in 1949.
Joanne is survived by her husband John, who she married on June 18, 1952; one daughter, Vickie (Bob) Zaccari of Valencia, PA; one son, Eric (Andrea) Cranmer of Chicora, PA; one daughter-in-law, Cheryll Cranmer of Butler, PA; one grand-daughter, Kristen Zaccari; five grandsons, Tyler Cranmer, Austin Cranmer, Brandon Cranmer, Adam Zaccari, Zachary Mayes; and a number nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Ted B. Cranmer.
Friends will be received Monday, March 4, 2019, 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm & 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm at Thompson – Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA.
Officers and members of Butler Chapter #45 Order of Eastern Star will conduct a service at 6:45 p.m on Monday, March 4th at the funeral home.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, 11:00 am at the Mt. Chestnut Presbyterian Church, 727 Old Route 422 West Butler, PA, with retired pastor, Reverend Jeff Curtis and Reverend Ron Schermerhorn, pastor of the Mt. Chestnut Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Burial will take place in the Greenlawn Burial Estates.
