Jody A. Dunmyre, 74, of Chicora, the administrator of the Bear Creek Watershed Authority, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes Saturday evening, December 2, 2023 at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Jody was born in Butler on August 30, 1949. She was the daughter of the late Robert L. and Avanelle M. Hilderbrand Dunmyre.
She was a 1967 graduate of Karns City Area High School and a lifelong member of Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church in Chicora. She enjoyed trips to casinos, playing bingo, and helping others and enjoyed the company of her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Jody had been employed as the administrator of the Bear Creek Watershed Authority in Petrolia for more than 15 years.
She is survived by her sister, Lana S. Callihan and her husband, Daniel, of Ellicott City, MD; her brother, Christopher S. Dunmyre of Chicora; her nieces and nephew, Erin C. Lentscher and her husband, James, of Glenwood, MD, Daniel L. Callihan and his wife, Kristen, of Phoenix, MD, and Shannon C. Hardee and her husband, Jonathan, of Glenelg, MD; her great nieces and a great nephew, Keara, Tommy, and Andrew Lentscher, Dean and Walter Callihan, and Ellie and Callie Hardee; an aunt, Sandy Hilderbrand of Mt. Chestnut, as well as a number of cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jeffrey R. Dunmyre, and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Rd., Chicora, from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, December 14. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, December 15 at Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic, Chicora, with Rev. Matt McClain, pastor of St. Clare Parish, officiating.
