John “Jack” Bowman, 86, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on June 3, 2021. He was born on October 9, 1934, the son of Pauline and Clyde Bowman. Jack graduated from Turtle Creek High School, Class of 1952. He served in the US Air Force and then went on to graduate from Ohio University. Jack was married to his wife, Janice, for 66 years. He was a professional photographer for 29 years with the Butler Eagle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Bowman, and by his two children, Michelle Bowman and Craig Bowman. He is survived by his wife, Janice Bowman, his children, Derek (Jill) Bowman and Jennifer (Tim) Kane, his sister Nora McTeir, four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held at SPENCER D GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 NEW CASTLE RD, BUTLER, PA 16001 WWW.SPENCERDGEIBEL.COM on Saturday, June 12th from 1-3pm followed by a short prayer service. In lieu of flowers those who wish to remember Jack in a special way may make gifts in his memory to the Veterans charity of their choice.
