John Lee Oesterling, 77, of Butler passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024. He was born in Butler on March 29, 1947 to the late Loyal and Eleanor (Covert) Oesterling. John graduated from Butler High School in 1965 and then opened Oesterling Automotive and Autobody, where he worked for over 40 years until he retired. He was known for being hardworking, being helpful and having a great sense of humor, and made exceptional seal noises; he loved Nascar and hotrods. John was described as a good husband, father and grandfather, and loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of the Crossfire United Methodist Church. John was the beloved husband of Rebecca (Fleming) Oesterling since their marriage on October 22, 1966; father of Kris-Ann (Daniel) Wilcox, Marsha (John) Blum, Paula (John) DeRunk, Ryan Oesterling, Sara Oesterling and Jane Oesterling, uncle to 1 niece; Opa of 22 grandchildren; 2 great-children and 1 on the way.
