John N. “Jack” Minich, 82, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on September 17, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.
He was born January 18, 1935 in Butler, Pennsylvania to the late John D. Minich and the late Ruth Moore.
Jack worked for Armco Steel for 44 years in the boiler house retiring in 1999. He was a Deacon and Elder at Hill United Presbyterian Church. In the U.S. Army, Jack served as a SP4 in Seoul, Korea. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and grandsons.
Jack is survived by his wife Lois who he married on December 19, 1959; two sons, John S. (Michele) Minich of Elm Grove, WI, David Minich of Franklin, PA; one daughter, Elaine (Ben) Lipsman of West Chester, PA; five grandchildren, Joe (Liz) Minich, Nick Minich, Eli Lipsman, Anna Lipsman, Leah Lipsman; one great-grand-daughter, Ayla Minich; one brother, William (Phyllis) Minich of Butler, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Joanne Fogel, and her husband Ken Fogel.
Friends will be received Tuesday, September 19, 2017, 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Thompson – Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, 11:00 am at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc., 124 East North St. Butler, PA, with Rev. James Steiner, officiating.
Private burial will take place in the Greenlawn Burial Estates.
