With his entry into the Eternal Kingdom of Jesus Christ, Joseph David Smith will continue, with child-like amazement, his exploration and acceptance of God’s everlasting grace and kindness.
Joseph, age 81, of Butler, peacefully passed away Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2026, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 17, 1944, in West Sunbury, he was a son of the late Kenneth Smith and Luella Stutz Smith.
He worked in the shipping and receiving department at Bobbie Brooks. He enjoyed golf, calling bingo, and swimming at the Butler Cubs.
Joseph is survived by his daughter, Trina Smith, of Butler; one sister, Kay Reott, of Butler; his best friend, Harold Roudybush, of Butler; his faithful dog, Indianna; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers; one sister; and his former wife, Paulette Cogley Smith.
Funeral services are private.
