Joseph E Archer, of Sarver, PA, passed away on February 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Joe was born in Butler to Joseph E. Archer and Lucille Archer on May 25,1939. After graduating from Butler High School in 1957, he entered the Navy where he honorably served his country aboard the USS Davis DD 937. Upon leaving the Navy, Joe began a banking career with Pittsburgh Home Savings Bank, initially at the Butler office, but eventually moving to the Pittsburgh office where he established a successful Construction Loan program serving many of the areas home builders. Joe enjoyed many hobbies including running and triathlons. In his post retirement years, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, attending the Sturgis Festival for 20 years; snowmobiling with his son Ken including the Canadian Snow Train; he also honed his construction skills in rehabbing older homes.
He is survived by his first wife, Bonita Bachman (Dave); his son, Kenneth E Archer(Symone) of Sarver; his daughter, Joelle K Patterson (Geoff) of Butler; son-in-law, Pierre Khoury; his brother, Gary Archer ( Kandy) of Butler , his sister, Terri Cammisa (Hedge), and Nancy Bonati, his partner of 24 years. Joe was a professional mentor to Marco Bonati, and delighted in attending the sports events and hosting the annual Easter Egg Hunt for his grandchildren Xavier Khoury; Pierce Khoury, Madison Archer Schmidt, Zachary Archer, Colin Patterson, and Sydney Patterson.
His daughter Nicole Archer Khoury of Cranberry Twp., PA, and brother Jan Archer of Norfolk, VA predeceased him.
All services will be held privately per Joe’s wishes.
