Joseph Michael Osche, 47, of Butler passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018 at his residence.
Born in Butler December 19, 1970 to the Late Elmer Osche and Pearl Schiebel Osche.
He completed his school eduction from the Butler School District in 1992.
He worked for over 20 years at the ARC Sheltered Workshop.
He was a member of St. Wendelin’s Catholic Church and was an usher at St. Peter’s Catholic Church for several years.
He loved watching the Steelers, Penguins and Pirates and often disagreed with the officials calls.
He participated in the Butler County Special Olympics for over thirty years. He was very actively involved in track, basketball, volleyball, bowling, floor hockey and power lifting. He was elected to the Pennsylvania Special Olympics Hall of Fame in 1997, the first Butler County athlete to earn that honor.
He was a life member of the Roman Catholic Men’s Club and a social member of the Herman Volunteer Fire Department.
In addition to his mother, Pearl, Joe is survived by one brother, Earl (Sandra) Osche and five sisters. Diane (Herm) Wolf, Brenda (Bob) Veselich, Janie (Paul) Moore, Tina (Brett) Bonos and Lori (Dwayne) Hartman.
12 nieces and nephews: Eric, Brian, Stephanie, Kristi, Breann, Casey, Toby, Ben, Nicole, Sarah, Zack and Jake. 9 great-nieces and nephews. Numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
He is also survived by his wonderful caregivers at Penn Avenue. We will be forever grateful for all the love and care you gave Joe. Also, a special thank you to the entire ARC staff for all the support we received, and to the VNA Hospice staff for their compassionate care.
Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham St. Butler, PA from 5-7 pm Wednesday with a Blessing Service to follow at 7:00 pm Wednesday from the Funeral Home.
