Joseph Rassman Sr, 87, of Butler passed away on Wednesday, September 27th, 2023. He was born in Butler on December 23rd, 1935 to the late Robert & Edna (Ladebue) Rassman. Joseph was a 1955 graduate of Butler Senior High School. After graduation, he honorably served his country aboard the USS FDR in the US Navy. Joseph then worked for Robinson Industries in Zelienople as a floor supervisor. He was a member of the Meridian Veterans Club & Boyers Sportsmans Club. Joseph loved spending time outdoors where he could fish, hunt, hike & farm. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially on vacations & camping trips. He was a kind, caring, & giving man who loved to work and never hesitated to help those around him. He was loved by all who knew him and will be forever missed. Joseph was the beloved husband of Jeanne (Fry) Rassman and the father of Joseph (Madge) Rassman Jr, Sheri (Greg) Lopuchovsky & Alyssa (Parames) Lawson. Also surviving are his grandchildren Ryan (Belinda) Hoellein, Amara Hollein, Alysa Hollein, Breanna Mesko, Bryan (Heather) Byers, Nadia Lawson, Brock Lopuchovsky, Bailey Lopuchovsky, and Morgan (Javier) Erasmus; his great grandchildren McKinley & Ryan Hoellein, Jaxon Mondine, Bayne & Bryson Byers and Glen, Brianna & Davon Hamilton and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces & nephews. Along with his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his siblings John, Robert & Richard Rassman, Betty Arbogast, Mary Magness, Edna Nastasi & Janice Hicks. Family & friends are welcome to attend a memorial service for Joseph on October 22nd, 2023 at 1PM at Meridian Veterans Hall. Arrangements were made through SPENCER D.
