The Pennsylvania Game Commission says there should be plenty of pheasants available for harvest as the new season kicks off.
Junior pheasant season in Pennsylvania begins Saturday while the statewide season starts October 26th.
The Game Commission plans to stock around 237,000 pheasants incrementally through early January, mostly on public land.
Two locations to be stocked for junior pheasant hunting are in Butler County with one at State Game Lands 95 near Moniteau High School and the other is at Moraine State Park.
Pheasant hunting permits cost just under $27 and need to be signed and carried with a general hunting license while in the field.
