Jury selection will begin today in a high-profile case taking place in Butler.
32-year-old Jeremy Sickenberger was granted a new trial earlier this year in the death of Thomas Stockman after the Pennsylvania Superior Court ruled Sickenberger did not get an adequate defense.
Sickenberger was sentenced to 18 to 40 years in prison for third degree murder in 2016. He was offered time served with 10 to 20 years but rejected that deal earlier this year.
A trial date has not been set but Sickenberger’s attorney has been adamant about moving the case to trial as quickly as possible.
