Quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who led the Kansas City Chiefs to their first NFL championship in 50 years in February’s Super Bowl, has agreed to a 10-year extension with the team worth up to $503 million. Mahomes is already under contract with the Chiefs for the next two seasons, so the extension will start in 2022. The contract for the 24-year-old reigning Super Bowl MVP is the biggest in pro sports history, topping centerfielder Mike Trout’s $426.5 million deal with MLB’s Los Angeles Angels.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are a week away from the deadline to offer a long-term contract to linebacker Bud Dupree. The two sides must complete the deal by next Wednesday, or Dupree will be paid $15.8 million this season after he signed the franchise tag tender the Steelers placed on him in March.
