A Karns City man has been placed in the Butler County Prison after he allegedly assaulted a police officer.
State Police were called to a Fairview Township home last Thursday for an alleged domestic incident. As police were placing 39-year-old Kyle Mercer into custody, he allegedly bit and attempted to headbutt a police officer.
Mercer has been charged with aggravated assault for the domestic incident, two counts of simple assault for the resisting arrest as well disorderly conduct.
He’s being held on $40,000 bail as he awaits a June 17th Preliminary hearing.
