Katherine H. (Hunt) Rapp, 80, of Butler, PA, entered God’s eternal Kingdom on Thursday, August 24, 2023, under the care of Transitions Hospice at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born August 30, 1942, in Butler, PA, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Robert E. and Katherine R. (McDonald) Hunt.
Katherine was a graduate of Butler High School and went to become a nurse’s aide at Butler Memorial Hospital and later retired as 2nd Deputy of the Office of the Prothonotary in Butler. She was a member of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Butler where she helped create the Children’s Hour program. Katherine was very loving and caring, and fostered many children throughout her life. She also loved reading and participating in Bible studies. More than anything, she was a selfless Christian woman that did whatever she felt God called her to do.
She is survived by her 3 sons; John B. (Nancy) Atwell, Robert E. (Kalpana) Rapp, Jr. M.D., and Thomas A. (Alicia) Rapp, her grandchildren; Suzanne, Keith (Iza), Courtney, Kyleigh, Samantha, Emma, Edmund, and Eleanor and 10 great-grandchildren with one on her way and her two brothers-in-law, William (Maxine) Rapp and David (Sandra) Rapp.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. “Bob” Rapp, Sr., a brother, Robert “Fred” and his wife Diana Hunt, another brother, J. Steve Hunt, and a sister-in-law, Nancy J. Rapp.
Friends will be received from 10-11 AM on Monday, August 28, 2023, at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., Butler, PA 16001 where a funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM with Pastor David Phillips officiating.
A private burial will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.
