Kathleen A. Slick, age 81, of Butler, passed away Monday, June 4, 2018, in UPMC Mercy.
Born April 3, 1937 in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Virginia Davis Dorenkamp.
Kathy was a member of Saint Peter Roman Catholic Church.
She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Duquesne University in 1966. She switched careers in the 1980’s and became a realtor, which she fully enjoyed for over 30 years. She worked for several different real estate companies before retiring from Northwood Realty in 2009.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Slick, of Dormont, PA, and Stephanie Oswald and her husband, Gerald, of Saxonburg; one brother, Lawrence E. Dorenkamp and his wife, Linda, of Butler; one stepbrother, Elmer Wagner, of Butler; two sisters-in-law, Helen Wagner, of Butler, and Rita Caruso, of Trafford, PA; two grandchildren, Suzanne Oswald and William Oswald; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James P. Slick, who passed away September 27, 2010; two brothers, Clarence William “Bud” Dorenkamp and Anthony “Butch” Dorenkamp; and four stepbrothers, Jack, LaVerne, Robert, and William Wagner.
Friends will be received in the Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 429 Center Avenue, Butler, on Thursday from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 1 p.m. from Saint Peter Roman Catholic Church, 127 Franklin Street, Butler.
Committal Service and burial will take place in Good Shepherd Cemetery, Monroeville.
The Women’s Council of Saint Peter Church will meet at the church on Friday at 12:35 p.m. to recite the rosary.
