Kathleen “Kathy” Cunningham, 71, from Butler, who spread kindness and love to all, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 24, 2024, after battling cancer. She was born in Butler on July 5, 1953, to Elizabeth (Abersmith) Cunningham and the late Howard Cunningham. She cherished her Western PA roots while embracing adventure, which included many vacations to North Carolina with her family and a memorable time living in Spain. Kathy was employed as a medical coder at Butler Memorial Hospital and had a deep love for animals and had many pets throughout the years. She greatly enjoyed tending to her beautiful garden and had an amazing green thumb, growing varieties of vegetables and flowers alike. She was always able to embrace the joy and serenity found in nature. She held her family and friends close to her heart, always bringing warmth and light to their lives. Mother of Joseph (Jocelyn) Stafura; sister of Kevin (Marcia) Cunningham; aunt of Morgan Cunningham, Lacy (Chris) Emmanuel, Miki (Dana) Addison; she is also survived by many loving friends. Along with her beloved father, Kathy was preceded in death by her son, Daniel and her daughter, Emily. Her legacy of compassion and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
