The final chapter of a bittersweet love story has reached its finale. On Thursday, November 24th 2022, Kathy Kondos was reunited after 16 months with Mike, her beloved husband of more than 60 years.
She was born June 4th 1942 in Butler, Pennsylvania to the late Lewis and Gertrude Davis. She was a 1960 graduate of Butler High School. She retired from Braun’s Baking company after 20+ years to enjoy time with her husband and family. Kathy was an avid gardener who enjoyed taking care of her flower beds.
Kathy liked Bingo, and always has a great time, especially if she won and could shout “BINGO!” She loved to dance and could put the ”youngsters” to shame when she had her “Boogie” shoes on. Kathy loved redecorating her home and had a great eye, as well as an amazing way of welcoming everyone and making them comfortable in that home. She also had the ability to sum up any given situation with two words, Oh Sh**! And you knew Mike was in for it when she called him Michael. But more than anything else, Kathy was a loving, generous and always there for you, wife, mother, grandmother and friend with beautiful blue eyes and a quick smile. She was extremely loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by one son, Michael Kondos, Jr and wife Jocelyn of Evans City, PA; four daughters, Deborah Dishner and husband Don of Butler, PA, Judy Hogan and husband Dennis of Albion, PA, Diana Walters of Evans City, PA, Donna Wittebort and husband Rich of Butler, PA; seven grandchildren, Justin Hogan, Kevin Dishner and wife, Victoria, Colton Walters, Brooke Ritenour and husband, Derek, Zoie Kondos, Abbie Kondos, and Bailey Kondos; and one brother, William Davis.
There will be no public visitations or funeral services per Kathy’s last wishes. Instead be kind and give someone a hug in her memory. She would love that.
The family request memorial donations be made in Kathy’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA 16001.
