Kay A. Steffler, 83, of Valencia, passed away on June 25, 2023.
Born to the late Harold and Doris Riddle on September 21, 1939, in Butler, PA, Kay was a beacon of strength and resilience, a quality she carried throughout her life. Her daughters’ say, “She was the light in the window of the house we grew up in,” a testament to her unwavering spirit and commitment to her loved ones. She also spoke her mind freely and was not afraid to eloquently tell you to keep it to yourself.
Kay was a woman of many talents. She was an avid reader, a creative painter, and a skilled seamstress; but she was best known for her role as an Office Manager at North Pittsburgh Telephone Employees FCU. Her dedication to her work was only surpassed by her devotion to her family and her community. She was a member of the Mars Chapter #271 Order of the Eastern Star, serving as Past Matron, Past Appointed Grand Officers and International Grand Representatives. Kay was also a Past Queen of the Daughters of the Nile Airys Temple No. 48 and Past Mother Advisor of Rainbow Girls in Mars.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ray D. Steffler, whom she married on May 16, 1959, and who passed away on February 16, 2019 and her brothers, Ken and David Riddle.
She leaves behind her loving daughters, Karen Santelmo and Michelle (Ed) Veltoven; and her adored grandchild, Costen Santelmo and his fiancé Ava Del Signore. Her family will continue to honor her, and the Steffler Family legacy, at BC3.
As per her wishers there will be no visitation.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
The family requests memorial contributions be made in Kay’s honor to The BC3 Education Foundation, 107 College Dr., Butler, PA 16002.
Arrangements were entrusted to Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc. 124 East North Street, Butler, PA 16001.
We encourage those who knew Kay to share their memories and upload photos of her to the memorial page, as a celebration of her life and the profound impact she had on those around her at www.thompson-miller.com.
