Kenneth E. Vogt, Sr., 81, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on December 6, 2020 at the Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born September 20, 1939 in Bradys Bend, Pennsylvania to the late Homer G. Vogt, Sr. and the late Thelma E. Seybert Vogt.
Kenneth was an underground miner working as a foreman for various mining companies. He was a veteran of the United States Army as a MP’s. He was a member of the Latrobe Lodge #275 F& AM, and also a member New Castle Consistory. He was a 32 degree Mason where he was a 50 year member. And also a member of the American Legion Post #0778 of Lyndora, PA. Also Kenneth was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife Shirley J. Vogt whom he married on July 28, 1962; one daughter, Connie S. Matlosz and her husband Henry of Orange, CA; one son, Kenneth E. Vogt, Jr and his fiancée Mary Clark of Butler, PA; two grandsons, Tanner Vogt and Levi Vogt and his wife Jordan; one brother, Richard L. Vogt and his wife Mona of Myersdale, PA; one sister, Esther Wood and her husband Alan of White Haven, PA;, one sister-in-law, Emma Vogt of KY, and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he, was preceded in death by two brothers, John A. Vogt, and Homer G. Vogt, Jr., one sister, Betty Jean Vogt.
There will be no public visitation.
Private funeral services were held with Pastor Joel Benson, officiating.
Private burial will take place in the Gruenwald Cemetery.
