Kenneth J. Baxter, 94, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on February 5, 2021 at the Concordia Lutheran Ministries.
He was born September 9, 1926 in Butler, Pennsylvania to the late Joseph Baxter and the late Anne Anthony Baxter.
Kenneth served in the U.S. Navy, during World War II, in Okinawa, Japan. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Kenneth worked as a truck driver/ dispatcher for Don Martin Trucking. He enjoyed hunting, camping, and gambling.
Kenneth is survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Irene Lynn, who he married on February 19, 1959 and who passed away on November 9, 2009; one son, Scott Baxter, who passed away on June 12, 2016; three brothers, Ernest Baxter, James Baxter, and Ron Baxter; three sisters, Sue Shearer, Betty Sarvey, and Jean Scott.
Friends will be received Sunday, February 7th, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Thompson – Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 8th at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) at the Thompson – Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA 16001 with Pastor Joel Benson, officiating.
Officers and Members of the American Legion Post #117, American Legion #778, and VFW Post #249 will conduct full military honors.
A private burial will take place in the Butler County Memorial Park.
Due to Covid-19 State Guidelines, visitors are required to supply their own and to wear a facial mask and adhere to social distancing. Groups are limited to 25 people.
