Kent D Bowen,86, of Butler passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. He was born to the late Floyd (Doc) and Margaret (Peg) Bowen on March 14, 1935 in Steubenville, Ohio. He was raised in Weirton, WV and graduated from Weir High School in 1953. After attending W.V.U. and Bethany College, he joined the U.S. Navy and received his wings as a naval aviator. He graduated from Pitt in 1963 and received his PA Certified Public Accountant License in 1965, while working at the Pittsburgh office of the international firm of Touche, Ross, Bailey, and Smart. From 1978 to 1985 he was the treasurer of the Pittsburgh Penguin hockey team. In 1986, he joined the Fuellgraf Electric Company of Butler, PA as the corporate treasurer. In 1992, Kent opened his own tax and accounting firm in Butler, while working as an Adjunct Professor at Butler County Community College in the Business Division and as a news reporter for the Butler Radio Stations. He is survived by his loving wife Jean and his children Brent, Cindy, and Keith Bowen; granddaughter Erin; step children, Janet Stromberg, Bob O’Grady, David O’Grady, and Mary Ann Rieger. He was loved and will be forever missed. Family and friends received on Monday, January 10, 2022 from 10-11 AM at Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, 200 Faith Way Butler, PA 16001 until the time of his funeral at 11 AM.
