Kimberly S. “Kim” Perkins Hamilton, 59, of Butler, went to be with the Lord late Wednesday afternoon, October 19, 2022 at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot, following a courageous battle with COVID and cancer.
Kimberly was born in Butler on November 29, 1962. She was the daughter of the late John H. Jr. and Barbara Curtis Perkins. She was a 1980 graduate of Butler Area High School, and graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Butler County Community College in 1989. Kim later earned her Bachelors and Master’s degrees in nursing from Carlow University in Pittsburgh in 2010. She was employed by Saint Francis Hospital, and most recently UPMC in Pittsburgh. Kim was an avid animal lover, and she was especially fond of cats.
She is survived by her former husband and her companion, and caretaker, Ricky Hamilton; three sisters, Diria “Dee” Swager, and her husband, Allan, Barbara Barnhart, and her husband, Rev. Floyd, and Jo Donaldson and her husband, Gerald; a brother, Dana Perkins and his wife, Sally; a sister-in-law, Rita Perkins; and she was affectionately “Aunt Kim” to her several nieces and nephews, whom she adored. Also surviving are a number of cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Keith E. Perkins.
Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora-Fenelton Road, Chicora, from 2-5 p.m. Sunday. A funeral service will follow at 5 p.m. from the funeral home with her nephew, the Rev. Matthew Perkins, a free Methodist pastor, and her brother-in-law, Rev.
