The Knoch boys’ basketball team fell to the visiting Mars Planets on Friday night, losing by a final of 79-52.
The Planets jumped out to an early 10-0 lead in the first quarter, but the Knights were able to battle back to close the Planets’ lead to just two points at the end of the first quarter. The momentum continued to sway back and forth through the fourth quarter, when the Planets were able to pull away. Friday’s game also marked the 90th match-up between the neighboring schools.
Leading scorers for the Planets were senior/Notre Dame recruit Rob Carmody (40), and Andrew Recchia (14). As for the Knights, they were paced by Julian Sanks (13) and Jared Shrecengost (11).
