The Knoch School District is taking the next step in the process of undertaking a major construction project.
At their meeting Wednesday night, school board members approved a motion to authorize the district’s design firm to proceed with a specific plan including several options that may be considered as alternate bids.
According to Superintendent Dr. David Foley, the just over $35 million project will include lighting and sound improvements in the auditorium as discussed during a community feedback session last month. Foley is also exploring the possibility of securing community funding to help pay for a Tech-Ed center.
The design and construction management companies will work over the next six months to create specifications for this plan before the district puts the project out to bid early next year.
