As the director of Butler County’s Bureau of Elections continues to push for voting reform, the commissioners voted to relocate a local voting precinct.
Voters in Fairview Borough will now cast their ballots at the Fairview Borough Municipal Building on North Washington Street in Petrolia.
That’s where Fairview Borough residents used to vote, but the precinct was moved last year to the Fairview Township Municipal Building in Karns City because the borough couldn’t get enough workers to staff the polls.
Now, the borough says they will have enough workers to re-open the precinct in Petrolia.
Elections Director Shari Brewer continues to push for voting reform in Pennsylvania as it gets harder and harder to staff voting precincts, especially in the county’s smaller communities.
