Larry Dale Weitzel, 74, of Butler, passed away Monday, September 27, 2021 at his home.
He was born February 15, 1947 in Butler, the son of the late Melvin Lamont and Julia (Hrip) Weitzel.
Larry worked at Magnetics for 41 years and then started his own business in 2001, Victoria Weitzel Janitorial Services. He was a member of the American Legion Post 117. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed walleye fishing and bass tournaments at Moraine. Larry also loved his old hot rod truck, muscle cars and car cruises.
Surviving are his two daughters, Angela (Justin) Kearns of Butler and Rachelle (Roger) Atkins of Atlanta, Georgia; son, Joshua Weitzel of Butler; his significant other, Patricia Maust of Butler; two sisters, Darlene (Don) LeFevre of Karns City and Donna (Ken) Phillips of Harrisville; brother, Terry (Loretta) Weitzel of East Brady; five grandchildren, Tori (Lucas Snider) McCommon, Dalten McCommon, Tyler Jones, Braden Atkins and Brock Atkins; cousins, Daryll (Sandy) Weitzel of Butler; Patricia’s daughter, Michelle (Thomas) Furka and their daughter, Patricia and close friends, Howdy (Sue) Reges and Ray (Denise) Fisher.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Victoria Podobensky Weitzel, who passed away August 10, 2015 and a brother, Clifford Weitzel.
A memorial service will be held at 2PM on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Moraine State Park Pavilion #6 Loop, McDanels.
