Larry Edward Oskin, 74, of Butler, PA, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2020 at the Oakland VA Medical Center, Pittsburgh, PA.
He was born July 24, 1946 in McKeesport, PA to the late Edward and Vera M. (Engwer) Oskin.
He attended Thorncreek United Methodist Church, Butler, PA.
Larry was a graduate of McKeesport High School and also a graduate of Grove City College with a degree in Business.
Larry was a Veteran of the US Army First Air Calvary during the Vietnam War. Larry received two Bronze Stars for his service. He was a member of the American Legion Post #778 and the VFW Post #249.
Larry was employed as a manager for Kenmac Rentals for 50 years. He was past president of the Pennsylvania American Rental Association.
Larry was a member of the Football Boosters at Knoch High School, inaugural assistant coach for the Knoch High School Hockey Team and the inaugural coach of the Saxonburg Spartan Youth Football with his friend Moe. Larry enjoyed Hunting, Fishing, Skiing and Motorcycle Riding. He was founder of KISTMYWIHA Lodge in Driftwood, PA. His greatest joy was hunting with and coaching his boys and then teaching his grandkids about camp and hunting.
Larry is survived by his Wife of 50 years, Sarah “Cookie” (McIntyre) Oskin, whom he married March 26, 1970; three sons: Larry E. Oskin, Jr. and Wife Brandy of Butler; Stephen E. Oskin and his wife Bikem of Howard, PA; David W. Oskin and his wife Coleen of Butler; eight grandchildren: Allee and (Dan Hickton), Kaelyn, Hunter, Gabrielle, Caleb, Isaac, Izabella and William; two sisters, Karen Bryan and her husband Howard of North Huntington, PA and Suzanne Conner of Mars, PA; also a number of nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received Saturday October 10, 2020 from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m., with the service to follow at Thorncreek United Methodist Church, 142 Rockdale Rd, Butler, PA 16002 with Pastor Mary Jo Gould Officiating.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
