Larry M. Kriess

Larry M. Kriess, 85, of Butler passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022. He was born in Butler on March 29, 1936 to the late William and Gertrude Kriess. Larry was raised on the family farm on Kriess Road. He loved the Steelers, Pirates, camping, politics, and his dog Molly. Larry was a former chairman of the Butler County Democratic Committee and also on the Pennsylvania State Committee in Harrisburg. He was known to be very family oriented. Larry was the beloved husband of Patricia (McCandless) Holt Kriess since their marriage in 1998; father of Donna (James) Zang, Mitch (Melinda) Roth, and Paul (Robin) Kriess; stepfather of Tammy (John) Holt-Leonard, John (Lena) Holt Jr., Chad (Rachelle) Holt, and Dirk (Erin) Holt. He is also survived by 6 brothers and sisters, 11 grandchildren, 12 step grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 3 step great grandchildren. Larry was preceded in death by his son Larry “Chip” Kriess, son Jeffery Kriess, and his first wife Patsy (Beaman) Kriess. He was also preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters.
