Laura Mae (Bicehouse) Knox, 97, went to be with Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on 2-5-25 at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Butler.
Laura, known to most as “Dolly” was born August 30, 1927 in Callery PA to the late Charles A. Bicehouse Sr. and Cleo M. (Marburger) Bicehouse.
Laura graduated from Evans City High School in 1943. She worked at Mine Safety in Callery for many years.
She was a member of Old Union Presbyterian Church, Mars PA and often attended Crestview Community, Callery PA.
Dolly enjoyed listening to gospel music (especially the Men from Mars Quartet) playing Bingo, going to the Meadows and baking and cooking. Nicknamed by the grandkids as “Grandma with the cookies” Above all, she was a loving caring woman who will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
Dolly leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Jim (Kathy) Knox of Lexington NC, John (Carol) Knox of Connoquenessing Twp, Jeff (Tracey) Knox of Harrisville and Jackie (Bob) Carson of Connoquenessing Twp; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She leaves behind her sisters-in-law/friends, Doris Bicehouse and Nancy Knox. She was also loved and cherished by many nieces and nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents, Dolly was preceded in death by her husband Lester A. Knox (1-11-2020). She and Lester were married for 72 years.
Also preceding her were three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Charles “Artie” Bicehouse and his wife Marion, Kenneth Bicehouse and his wife Ethel May, and Jack Bicehouse.
A funeral service will be held Monday 2/10/2025 at 11 a.m. at Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Rd., Mars, PA 16046, with the Rev. Peter C. de Vries, Ph.D., church pastor, officiating.
Interment will be at Old Union Church Cemetery, Mars, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Old Union Presbyterian Church School Lunch Program.
