Lawmakers are offering their reactions to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s speech to the U.S. Congress yesterday.
Local Congressman Mike Kelly said in a statement that “President Zelenskyy has proven to me, and to the world, that more must be done to combat Russia’s unprovoked attacks on the Ukrainian people.”
Republican Senator Pat Toomey echoed those sentiments and doubled down on his belief that secondary banking sanctions need imposed against Russia.
Democratic Senator Bob Casey spoke on the Senate floor yesterday.
“This attack which is ongoing was both unprovoked and unjustified. it’s an attack on a sovereign nation by a murderous dictator who has no regard for human life and no regard for the international rules-based order,” Casey said.
All three lawmakers expressed their thanks and admiration of President Zelenskyy.
